How to track your parcel
Parcelforce now operates across a single network with Royal Mail which means all your deliveries can now be tracked using Royal Mail Track and Trace here.
Tracking an item works the same way as before, simply visit https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item and enter your reference number to find the status of your delivery.
Our parcel tracking numbers vary in length and may contain letters and numbers. They can be 9, 11, 13, 14, 16 or 21 characters.
If you have bought something online, then the retailer should have provided you with a reference number. If you are sending a parcel through send.royalmail.com you will be provided with a tracking number in your order confirmation email, or on the Post Office receipt if you have dropped it off at your local branch.
There are a few reasons why your tracking number isn’t recognised.
- Please check you've entered the reference number correctly.
- If you’re waiting for a parcel delivery check the sender has given you the right reference number.
- Check the reference number is for an item sent using a Parcelforce Worldwide or Royal Mail service.
- The sender might have created a tracking number, but we may not have received the parcel yet. It may be best to try later, allowing time for the item to be received into our network.
After an initial attempted delivery, we will automatically attempt redelivery on the next working day if we haven’t left your item in an appropriate safeplace or with a neighbour. You can arrange an alternative redelivery or collection from a local depot or Post Office, for more information please visit our redelivery page.
If you’re the recipient:
- Contact the sender and ask them to give you the number
- If you ordered an item online, check your order confirmation or invoice. It might contain your reference number
If you’re the sender:
- Try contacting the recipient. They’ll be able to tell you if they’ve received the item.
We’re sorry, but if you sent your item at a Post Office® and you’ve lost the receipt or the tear-off section from the label, we won’t be able to tell you the reference number.
Please note: we can’t use any other information like a name or address to track items. Unfortunately, without a reference number, you won’t be able to track your item.
